Yes that hello was drug out, and a huge deep breath. I’m writing this to you in my first free moment of the week! This was the first real, non syllabus, week back to school and let me tell you, it has already taken it out of me. Ferrrrreal! Per usual, I wasn’t as prepared as I thought I was, and at this point I’m wishing we could just not, and say we did. You know what I mean? Who needs college anyway?!
I don’t know exactly if God is trying to tell me something, but this week especially, I have had a more than usual amount of close friends express their overwhelming stresses to me. Whether its financial, school, work, health, there always seems to be something tugging on peoples hearts. Isn’t it incredible the way stress can mess with your entire being? Not to mention all of the pressures pouring down on you to succeed through it all! It really hit me when I had a good friend break out in tears right in the middle of his busy day, just because stress had completely consumed his life. I hate that it can have that kind of power over you. Have you ever been there? I am the biggest culprit of this viscous cycle. I am always going, going, going, it can become so difficult to stay motivated! Don’t get me wrong, I love to live in the craziness, but sometimes it gets to be too much. One of my favorite things to see when I’m stressed comes from, as I like to call it, the book of happiness.
“When my anxious inner thoughts become overwhelming, your comfort encourages me.”Psalm 94:19
When life gets this way, I’ve learned you gotta just take some time to forget about all of it, and have some pure fun at its finest. So I spent the afternoon downtown, checking out the new and improved union station. Seriously guys, it is so awesome in there, you gotta go! Buy yourself some flowers (yep guilty, flowers are my weakness), and some ice-cream because why the heck not! Speaking of fun, check out these funky pants from my all-time fav store, Madewell! I had to break them out because the man upstairs gave us a 60 degree day in the middle of January, and you have to take full advantage. These are the bomb, because they’re the type of denim you can dress up or lay low in! Alright, so maybe I was dressed a little too much for spring, but a girl can’t help that she was born to live in the warmth! Pair them with a simple body suit and a cute pair of booties, and you got yourself a outfit that is sure to stand out. I realize a wide legged, cropped, pant can seem a little out there, but why not dress with 70’s disco on the mind?
Wishing you a stress free, peaceful week my friends!
